A group of students and adults pose in a school hallway holding a large ceremonial check. The check is from the Tennessee Valley Authority, made out to Anderson Elementary School for $5,000 for a STEM Grant. The check also features logos for BVI, TVA, and BTES. Behind the group is a mural of a colorful tree and painted words that read, “When I look in the mirror I see the leader in me.” The group includes students kneeling in the front and standing in the back, along with representatives from TVA, BVI, BTES, Anderson staff, and art teacher Autumn Roe.

Anderson Elementary is helping students build a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math thanks to a STEM grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority and BVI. The funding has allowed art teacher Autumn Roe to introduce new hands-on resources and lessons that connect creativity with STEM concepts in the classroom.

The project is made possible through the support of TVA, BVI, and Bristol Tennessee Essential Services, helping equip students with the skills they’ll need for future success in STEM careers.
